The Mission of Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) is
twofold: to provide support, advocacy and education
to those in our community who are infected with or
affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
and to serve as an outreach and information center to
prevent further transmission of HIV and the resulting
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
"We are all sick because of AIDS – and we are all tested by this crisis. It is a test not only of our willingness to respond, but of our ability to look past the artificial divisions and debates that have often shaped that response… It’s not a question of either treatment or prevention – or even what kind of prevention – it is all of the above. It is not an issue of either science or values – it is both. … There must… be a change in hearts and minds; in cultures and attitudes. AIDS must be an all-hands-on-deck effort."
- Illinois Senator Barack Obama speaking on World AIDS 2006
